Women First HealthCare, Inc.(Nasdaq:WFHC) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Shire Pharmaceuticals Ireland Limited, an affiliate of Shire Pharmaceuticals Group plc, to sub-license exclusive rights to manufacture, market, use, distribute and sell Vaniqa(R) (eflornithine hydrochloride) Cream for the European Union and certain other territories. Under terms of the agreement, Shire will pay Women First $10 million in cash for the sub-license rights, and Shire will fund a post approval clinical trial in the European Union. Women First and Shire will cooperate on marketing strategies and future product development opportunities.
